Biography

Dr Anila is a lectuter of Financial Acconting and Auditing in the Accounting department at Aston Business School. She joined Aston in September 2025 after she had an appointment with Turku chool of Economics in Finland as Post Doctoral researcher . She completed her PhD in 2022 from Aalto Business School in Finland. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Her main research interests concern audit quality and corporate governance particularly board of directors. Her research has been published in leading journals such as European Accounting Review. 

She is also a member of British Accounting and Finance Association and EAA scientific committee. She serves as a reviewer for Accounting Forum, International Journal of Accounting, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies.
