    Research Interests

    After graduating with a business degree and marketing diploma in the late 1970s Chris, joined the marketing team of Birmingham manufacturer Tucker Fasteners, a subsidiary of Black and Decker. The mid-80s saw a move into the bathroom industry with senior marketing positions at Doulton, Armitage Shanks and Glynwed Home Products and in 1999 Chris became Marketing Director of Halstead Boilers, manufacturers of heating equipment and a subsidiary of Glen Dimplex Group. During the 1990s, Chris gained an MBA from Aston Business School and is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Marketing.

    An extensive business career has meant significant involvement in the development of marketing and business strategy as well as the management of brands, new products and marketing communications . He has also had significant experience in the management of sales and after sales service environments.

    In 2007, after 28 years in industry, Chris chose to move into HE, lecturing at a number of other universities before joining Aston Business School.
