I graduated in 2016 with a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Aston University, I then went straight into a graduate role in the nuclear industry. I took the decision to go back to university towards the end of 2017 to start a PhD. My area of research is sustainably produced biofuels focusing on biofuels derived from microalgae. My studies are directed towards a process known as hydrothermal liquefaction which takes the as-received algae feedstock and converts it to a raw bio-crude product that can potentially be further upgraded into useable fuels.
