    Biography

    Claire is currently the Phase 1 Lead for the newly accredited Aston University Medical School MBChB. Previously, she was a member of the MBChB Programme Executive at Buckingham University Medical School and Course Director of their PGCert in Medical Education.  Claire is a Senior Fellow of AdvanceHE and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine. She is a Fellow and council member of the Academy of Medical Educators and chairs their Education Committee. In 2022, Claire was awarded the Academy of Medical Educators President’s Medal Award for Outstanding and Sustained Achievement in Supporting Medical Education.

    Research Interests

    Claire is an active researcher in the fields of medical education theory and metabolic disease with over 50 peer-reviewed publications, 7 international plenary talks, and an H index of 31. Her current interests include teaching and assessing professionalism, enhancing mindfulness and resilience in learners, developing learning aids, as well as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
