Biography
Dan is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Sustainable Bioenergy Systems at EBRI, working on the Supergen Bioenergy Impact Hub project titled "Maximising sustainability trade-offs" with Mirjam Röder. Prior to this, he undertook his PhD at EBRI, taking a political economy approach to analysing the use of biomass in the United Kingdom to achieve net zero.
Dan previously worked as Stakeholder Engagement Manager and COP26 Engagement Manager for the Supergen Bioenergy Hub, based at EBRI. He holds an MSc in Environment, Development, and Politics from the International Development Department (IDD) at the University of Birmingham, and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI) with a BA in Leadership and Management from Coventry University.
Research Interests
Dan is primarily interested in the development of policy that encourages the sustainable use of biomass resources to achieve net zero, whilst respecting ecological limits, to deliver benefits for people and planet.
His research interests include but are not limited to:

- Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS)
- Greenhouse gas removals (GGR)
- Social and environmental justice
