Hira Gulshan is a Teaching Fellow in Accounting at Aston Business School. She joined Aston Business School in December 2020, after 3 years Visiting Lecturer appointment at Birmingham City University Business School. She completed PhD (“Making sense with Institutional theory: A comparative study of CSR practices”) from School of Business and Social Sciences, Birmingham City University, holds MSc in International Business Management from Birmingham City University and she is a qualified ACCA member with 5 years of working experience in the industry. She teaches mainly sustainability and accountability, careers in Accounting, financial accounting, Financial Analysis, International business management, International strategic management, Business management, research methods, and financial analysis at both under- and post-graduate levels. Her research interests include sustainability, sustainable development, management controls, sensemaking, and Institutions.

I am currently working on CIMA funded case study on sustainability.
"Role of professional accountants and management accounting practices in achieving sustainable development goals. A case study of a UK automotive organisation"
Has recently designed and taught a Masters module on Sustainability Accounting and Accountability and an undergraduate module on Career's in Accounting. Has taught on the following modules: Financial Analysis, Sustainability Accounting and Accountability, Contemporary issues in Financial reporting, Financial Management, Careers in Accounting.

Student mentor and placement tutor,
Have been involved in a range of sustainability related event at Aston University including "Working towards sustainable future" and organised "Careers in Sustainability in accounting" event.
Have been working on Business Simulation in Sustainability.
I have professional contacts with different industry professionals, accounting bodies, and Big four firms. I invite them as guest speaker in my "Careers in Accounting" module.
