    Biography

Dr. Seyed Mojtaba Sajadi (SFHEA) holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and was a research visitor at the Faculty of Applied Economics, University of Antwerp, Belgium, in 2009-2010. He is currently an Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Operations and Supply Chain Simulation in the Operations and Information Management Department at Aston Business School. Before joining Aston University, he was an Assistant Professor at Coventry Business School (2021-2022), where he also served as the Course Director for the MSc Business Analytics program and Associate Course Director for the BA Business Management program. For ten years (2010-2020), he worked as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of Tehran, where he was recognized as a Young Outstanding Researcher in 2015.

His research focuses on simulation-based optimization in supply chain management and business analytics. He has extensive expertise in various simulation techniques, including Discrete Event Simulation (DES), Agent-Based Simulation (ABS), System Dynamics (SD), Monte Carlo methods, and Hybrid Simulation. His work applies these techniques across diverse fields such as project management, healthcare, manufacturing systems, supply chain management, disaster management, banking services, ICT, and after-sales services. Additionally, he has a strong background in optimization, business analytics, and the use of mathematical modeling, metaheuristic algorithms, and data science techniques to develop effective simulation-based optimization approaches for solving complex real-world problems.

Dr. Sajadi has significant experience teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in various international settings, including the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, and Iran. He has taught multiple modules, including Simulation Optimization, Operations Research, Supply Chain Optimization, Business Analytics, and Machine Learning.
