    Biography

Dr. Seyed Mojtaba Sajadi (FHEA) hold a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and was granted to be a research visitor at the Faculty of Applied Economics, Antwerp University, Belgium in 2009-2010. He is currently Assistant Professor (lecturer) in Operation and Supply Chain Simulation in Operation and Information Department, Aston Business School. Before he joined Aston University, he was Assistant Professor (2021-2022) at Coventry Business School, Course (Program) Director of MSc Business Analytics, and Associate Course Director in BA Business Management. Furthermore for ten years (2010-2020), he was working as an Assistant/Associate Professor at the University of Tehran. He was appointed as Young Outstanding Researcher that was awarded by the University of Tehran in 2015.

The focus of his research involved simulation-based optimisation in supply chain management and business analytics. He has extensive expertise in different sorts of simulation including Discrete Event Simulation (DES), Agent-Based Simulation (ABS), System Dynamics (SD), Monte Carlo, Hybrid simulation, and their applications in different fields of research studies such as project management, healthcare, manufacturing systems, supply chain, disaster management, banking service activities, ICT, after-sales services, and so forth. Besides, He has a solid background in optimisation, business analytics and using mathematical modelling, metaheuristic algorithms, and data science techniques for developing effective simulation-based optimisation approaches in order to address complex real-world problems.

He has extensive experience in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in a variety of international contexts including the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Turkey, Indonesia, Japan and Iran. He has been teaching different modules includes Simulation Optimisation, Operation Research, Supply Chain Optimisation, Business Analytics and Machine Learning.
