Personal profile
General
I joined the Photonic Research group of the Electronic Engineering department in October 2000. I received a Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering in July 2007. I was a holder of the Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship in 2008-2011.
I am a Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy.
Research Interests
My research interests are in numerical modelling of fibre Bragg gratings, which are widely used in telecommunications, and also in modelling fibre lasers systems. I work in close collaboration with experimentalists from the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies.
