Emeka Abakasanga is a Lecturer in Computer Science at Aston University, Birmingham, specialising in the Internet of Things (IoT) and network engineering. His research focuses on developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for healthcare—particularly in predictive modelling, personalised healthcare, and explainable AI—and applying IoT technologies to industrial challenges. A central theme in his work is the pursuit of responsible, ethical, and lifelong learning AI systems.
He completed his Ph.D. in Communications Network Theory at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, in 2023. Following this, he worked as a Research Associate in Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). Emeka also holds an MSc in Mobile Communications from Loughborough University and a BSc in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana.
Emeka is driven by a desire to create meaningful, real-world impact through data and AI. His research interests include IoT applications, information theory, artificial intelligence, signal processing, and data science.
