Emma's Integrity is one of her core values both personally and professionally, this is demonstrated in a professional capacity. Being genuine and honest is extremely important to Emma , and this value very much builds trust and confidence with her key stakeholders. Emma has a high level of interpersonal and communication skills which includes the ability to build relationships at all levels, quickly establish rapport, and articulate and communicate key and critical messages with confidence, clarity and a sense of purpose.
Prior to moving into HE teaching, Emma worked in industry, starting her career in an advertising agency then moved to Siemens as a European Director Marketing Manager. Moving into teaching in 2005 enabled Emma to bridge the gap between practice and theory which ultimately enhances the student experience.
Emma is currently Programme Director on the BSc Marketing Programme but she has a wide range of teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional teaching.
Modules include, Marketing Strategy, Brand Management, Social Selling and e-Commerce Management and Strategic Sales Management.
Emma also taught and managed on the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) programme as well as been an external examiner. Emma also worked at the CIM as a Partnership Manager and Regional Director which enhanced her university networks.
Due to her industry experience, Emma has a wide range of connections within industry which enables her to bring live client briefs and guest lectures to the programme.
In her spare time, Emma is a Business Ambassador for Acorns Children's Hospice and she recently did a Sahara desert trek to raise money. The team managed to raise over £114k for the charity.
Emma also volunteers as a Board Trustee for Sport4Life, which is a local charity supporting young person get into work through mentoring and sports.

Emma also won Lecturer of the Year 2018 at the Midlands Education Awards. This was against all teachers and lecturers across the Midlands.
Emma is currently studying for a Doctorate in Business Administration and her main areas of interest are around SMEs, achieving and sustaining growth within the West Midlands. Emma has attended a number of conferences, presenting findings both from her current research but also her involvement with enhancing teaching and learning.
