Biography
I am an applied linguist, educational researcher and language teacher educator. I hold a PhD in Applied Linguistics (University of Warwick, UK). I am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and, throughout my career, I have worked in different EFL/ESP/EAP and SLTE contexts. In the UK, I have taught at various universities, including the University of Birmingham, the University of Bristol, and Imperial College London, where I still collaborate as an Academic Visting Teaching Lecturer. Currently, I am a Teaching Fellow in English Language in the Department of English, Languages and Applied Linguistics at Aston University. I am also the current Coordinator of the IATEFL Research Special Interest Group. My main areas of research interest are Research Methodology, particularly in relation to in-depth qualitative inquiry in educational settings; Language Teacher Education with a focus on Continuing Professional Development practices in the Global South, particularly from an epistemological decolonisation perspective, and Language Teacher Research.
