    General

    I am a Computer Vision researcher currently employed as a Senior Lecturer at Aston University in Birmingham, UK. Prior to that I was a Senior Research Scientist in Toshiba Research Laboratory in Cambridge, UK where I was a member of the Computer Vision Group while concurrently holding a Junior Research Fellowship in Wolfson College, Cambridge. Even earlier, I was a PhD student in in the Machine Intelligence Laboratory in the Department of EngineeringUniversity of Cambridge. Many years ago as an undergraduate I studied Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial College, London.

    Research Interests


    My research interests broadly fall into the following four areas:

    • problems in the interface between Computer Vision and Graphics including Shape-from-X
    • video analysis and large scale content-based image retrieval
    • deep reinforcement learning and in particular the idea of transferring knowledge between agents and tasks
    • extracting joint semantic representations of images, video and text.

    • PhD in Computer Vision from Cambridge University Engineering Dept
    • MSci in Mathematics and Computer Science from Imperial College, London
