Biography
Dr Qian Xu is a Lecturer in Chemical and Sustainable Engineering at Aston University. She graduated with a DPhil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford and a BEng in Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham. She worked as a research associate in Bioengineering at Imperial College prior to join Aston. She has research interests on computational modelling via coupling of physical, chemical, and biological features. Her research projects involved characterising lymph node structure for cancer metastases, computational modelling with membrane water filtration fluid mechanics, developing a minimised cell death rate injection device for cell therapies. Her main teaching activities at Aston include Process Economics for 3rd year Chemical Engineering students and Environmental Engineering for MSc Sustainable Engineering students. She is now accepting PhD students.
