Joy is currently Associate Dean for Education and Student Experience for the MBA and Executive Education at Aston Business School.  She has previously held the positions of Deputy Head of Department, Learning and Teaching Convenor and Programme Director in the Business Analytics and Information Systems Department, Aston Business School.  She has over 20 years of teaching experience at a number of UK universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  Joy is currently a Governing Body member of the Society for Research into Higher Education.

Joy’s research focuses on the early stages of systems development, particularly systems modelling, requirements engineering, business IS/IT alignment and also the learning and teaching of information systems in higher education.
