Personal profile
Biography
I am a Systems Engineer and Doctor in Software Engineering with strong interests in teaching and learning approaches (e.g. gamification) and Software Engineering (SE) topics, particularly in the areas of human–AI interaction, self-adaptation, decision-making under uncertain environments, and uncertainty modelling. I have worked in both industry and academia, gaining knowledge and insights from both worlds.
In the research field, I aim to support collaboration between academia and industry through new techniques and approaches. For example, I contributed to the development of human-centred SE techniques to support modelling and reasoning about the inherent uncertainty associated with the design and execution of software systems (Twenty20Insight project). More recently, my interests have extended to education-focused research, including inclusive assessment practices and the responsible use of AI to support feedback, learning, and decision-making in higher education.
I am currently a Teaching Fellow in the Aston Professional Engineering Centre’s Digital and Technology Solutions (DTS) programme. Among other activities, I actively explore opportunities for research collaboration and educational innovation in higher education and software engineering, including work on AI literacy, human–AI collaboration in educational contexts, and engaging approaches to teaching and learning.
