Marisa's principal areas of research are related to corproate accountability and human rights. At Aston she works on issues of digital post-mortem privacy, as part of the wider Leverhulme-funded project on 'Modern Technologies, Privacy Law and The Dead'.
Maris also completing a PhD at the University of St Andrews on business and human rights. Her thesis focuses on critically analysing companies’ implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and human rights due diligence. She has published a range of reports on issues of climate change and human rights, modern slavery, and the 'business case' for human rights.
She holds an MRes in Management from St Andrews, and LLM in Business and Human Rights and LLB both from Queen’s University, Belfast.
