    PhD projects

    1. Integrative Genomics of Rare Diseases
Objective: Identify novel genetic variants associated with rare diseases using integrated multi-omics sequencing and advanced bioinformatics techniques.
Description: This project will leverage multi-omics data, including whole-genome sequencing, transcriptomics, and proteomics, from patients with undiagnosed rare genetic disorders. Students will apply advanced bioinformatics tools to integrate and analyze these datasets, identifying potential pathogenic variants and molecular pathways involved. The aim is to enhance our understanding of rare diseases, improving diagnostic accuracy and informing personalized therapeutic strategies.

    2. Precision Oncology: Genomic Profiling of Tumors
Objective: Investigate the genomic landscape of various cancers to inform personalized treatment strategies and address the knowledge gap in tumor biology.
Description: This project aims to bridge the knowledge gap in understanding tumor heterogeneity by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as single-cell sequencing and long-read nanopore technology. Students will analyze tumor genomic data, identifying key mutations, copy number variations, and structural alterations associated with treatment responses. Single-cell sequencing will provide insights into tumor heterogeneity, while long-read nanopore technology will enhance the detection of complex genomic rearrangements. The findings will contribute to the development of personalized, targeted therapies, improving the efficacy of cancer treatments based on the unique genomic profiles of individual patients.
