Dr Mehravar joined the Aston University in 2017 as a Lecturer in Infrastructure Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Prior to that, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Loughborough University.
Her main research interests lie in the field of numerical modelling applied to analysis, design and condition assessment of infrastructure and built environment. She is also interested in smart infrastructure particularly the use and development of novel sensing technologies in geo-structural monitoring.
Dr Mehravar has extensive experience in computational geomechanics related to energy. This includes thermo-poroelasticity, reservoir engineering and in particular carbon storage. She has worked on several research projects related to renewable energy and particularly on innovative and novel solutions for foundations and structures of offshore wind turbines. She has published more than 20 research papers in prestigious journals and international conferences.
