• Muhidin A. Mohamed is a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a Lecturer (teaching-focused) in Business Analytics at the department of Business Analytics and Information Systems, Aston University. He formerly worked as a Research Fellow in Big Data Analytics in the Computer Science department at Aston.
• Prior to joining Aston, Muhidin worked at the University of Birmingham as a Teaching Associate for over four years in which he also completed his PhD in Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing.
• He was also previously employed in higher education institutions in Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Somalia. His background covers Computer Science and Electrical Engineering with a specific specialization and interest in Data Science and Machine Learning. Besides, he worked as a telecom engineer and a business consultant for over 2 years.
• Muhidin's current research interests include Social Media Analytics, Enabling Low-resource Languages with NLP/ML,  AI adoption in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning. He has over 20 publications in international peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings resulting from a range of involved research projects.
