    Research Interests

    I joined Mechanical Engineering and Design as a teaching staff in January 2019, having spent the previous eight years as a student and staff at Aston University. On graduating in 2013, I joined the European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI) for two years as Applied Research and Technical Officer. Since 2016 I have been working as a casual teaching staff while studying for Master by Research and Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching. In addition to that, I followed an online master in Islamic study at the Islamic University of Minnesota, US.

    Furthermore, I am following a part-time PhD in our school, titled: “Techno-economic Study of Proton Exchange Membrane Hydrogen Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle (PEMFCHV), with a focus on overall efficiency and power consumption”.

    Before that, I spent 12 years in non-academic posts in Egypt and the Netherlands, having completed a combined degree in economics and political science at Khartoum University, Sudan.

    Throughout the last 16 years I have been a very active member in community activities, I am a co-founder, and I was the first treasurer of the Union of the Immigrant Organisations (UIO), Leiden, The Netherlands. Co-founder and chair of Bilal Education Trust, Birmingham. Co-founder and chair of Quran Foundation Europe. Co-founder and co-director of Ikhewa Community Organisation, Birmingham. Management committee member of the Muath Trust Mosque (Amanah masjid), Birmingham.
