Personal profile

Research Interests

My research interests sit at the intersection of legal education, assessment design, and digital pedagogy. I am particularly interested in how innovative and inclusive assessment practices, including programmatic and AI-resilient assessment, can enhance student learning, engagement, and feedback literacy within undergraduate law. My work explores the use of technology to support authentic assessment, efficient marking, and meaningful feedback, alongside broader questions of curriculum coherence, skills development, and the student experience across the law programme.

Teaching Activity

I teach primarily across undergraduate law programmes, with a particular focus on private client law and foundational legal skills. I am currently Module Lead for Legal System and Skills (Level 4) and Wills, Probate and Private Client (Level 6), and I teach on Introduction to Contract and Property (Level 4). My previous teaching includes Contract Law, Equity and Successions, Land Law, International Commercial Law, and specialist private client modules. I have also previously taught at postgraduate level, including National and International Sale of Goods.

Responsibilities

As Programme Director for the LLB, I have overarching responsibility for the coherence, quality, and strategic development of the programme. This includes oversight of curriculum design and review, assessment strategy, academic standards, and the student experience across all years of study. I work closely with module leaders and senior colleagues to ensure alignment with institutional priorities, regulatory requirements, and sector expectations, while supporting enhancement activity and continuous improvement.

I am also a co-founder of LEGEND - Legal Education Games: Evaluation, Network, and Dissemination. This is a network which supports the development, evaluation, and sharing of game-based and playful approaches within legal education.
