I studied Chemical Engineering at Aston University, and graduated with a Masters of Engineering in 2008. During my masters project, I studied thermal liquefaction of algal feedstock for the production of biofuels and value-added chemicals. In October 2018, I joined the ABC-Salt consortium as a research consortium as a PhD research student at the same university under the supervision of Dr Daniel Nowakowski and Prof Tony Bridgwater. My research with ABC-Salt will be mainly focused on feedstock selection and characterisation, TGA studies and kinetic modelling, product analysis from liquefaction studies.
- Hydrothermal liquefaction of biomass and wastes
- Characterisation of feedstock and chars by TGA
- XRD of molten salts
- Analytical pyrolysis (Py-GC-MS) of feedstock
- Thermodynamic modelling of biomass decomposition
