    Richard Orme joined Aston University Business School in January 2011 as a PhD student and since has held a number of research and teaching roles. Before joining Aston Richard had worked in industry including independent consulting in manufacturing, technology implementation and management in warehousing and logistics, and research and development in the materials sector for the automotive industry. These roles were in the broad area of operations and included significant work in operations improvement, which has since been the focus of his research. Richard has international experience having worked in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Sweden.
