I am willing to work with PhD students who would like to explore the role of accounting in operationalizing policy / strategic aims, using a qualitative research approach. The following are some broad research areas which I am happy to consider for PhD supervision:
1. Operationalisation of Sustainable Development Goals.
2. Governance and control in Higher Education Sector including how Business Schools are contributing to the SDGs.
3. Rationalisation and operationalisation of public policies in education, health and infrastructure sectors.
4. Implications for accounting controls in network form of public sector organisations.
5. How accounting is used for representing and controlling social (wicked) problems, including crimes.
