Dr Shen-Yang (Sonya) Lin is a Lecturer in HRM, OB and Work Psychology in the Department of Work and Organisation at Aston Business School, Aston University, starting from March 2023 up until the present. She is an early career researcher with a PhD degree achieved in March 2022 from the Australian National University.
In her research, she looks at how different nonwork related social contexts could facilitate employees creativity at work.

Sonya’s research has been published in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Stress Management and Group Dynamics: Theory, Research, and Practice. Her research paper has won Best paper nomination in the Academy of Management Annual Meeting Proceedings (approximately 10% of submissions).
At Aston, Sonya teaches creativity and leadership at undergraduate and apprenticeship level. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Previously Sonya was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds, working on a project about how HR practices influenced healthcare workers from BAME backgrounds during the pandemic (Dec 2021 to Aug 2023). Through the Postdoctoral Research Fellow role, Sonya has successfully built relationships and demonstrated impact to NHS medical practitioners in three hospitals in Leeds, UK. Following her Postdoctoral Research Fellow role, Sonya was then employed by Newcastle Business School in Northumbria University, where she taught students and employees in the Northeast of North East England from September 2022 to March 2023.
Dr Shen-Yang Lin is interested in doing research related to (1) creativity (eg idea generation, idea implementation, creativity chronotype circadian and work, creativity for socially good, the idea receive side of creativity, how creativity can help the people who suffer from victimization), (2) leadership (eg leadership role occupancy, leadership stepdown, leader's perfectionistic expectations etc) and (3) work-family (eg mothers/fathers/pregnancy at work, how can working parents be creative at home, and how will it crossover to benefit work etc)

This is a highly competitive Taiwanese grant for developing the top-tier social scientists. Taiwanese government selected 5-8 oversea full-time assistant professors/lecturers from all fields every year.

This is a highly competitive Taiwanese grant for developing the top-tier social scientists. Taiwanese government selected 25 oversea candidates from all fields, I am the only candidate from the management field that been selected this year.
