Teaching Activity
As a teaching focused academic I teach on a number of Bioscience modules both at UG and Masters level including Cellular Pathology and Essential laboratory skills. I tend to be involved in the teaching of practical laboratory skills for both UG and PG students.
I also teach on the Foundation in Science degree as the boioscience year lead and module leader on SE0HAP an introduction to human anatomy and physiology.
Research Interests
I am intrested in cancer cachexia (weight loss) and have been investigating the role that tumour derived factors effect host metabolism. This has led to an intrest in metabolic disease in general. I am an experienced in vivo scientist with a background in Pharmacology and Biochemistry.
Administrative Roles
I am the Bioscience Health and Safety coordinator.
I am also a green champion with a keen interest in the enviromental impact of laboratories on HE's carbon footprint.
