    Biography

Dr. Tabbi Wilberforce Awotwe is a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and Design and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Tabbi worked as the lead researcher in the Hydrogen fuel cell and electrolyser laboratory at the Institute of Engineering and Energy Technologies in The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) where he supervised several undergraduate, master and PhD’s degree projects. During his career as lecturer in UWS, he supported in Summer school, Erasmus and STEM programmes.  Tabbi also worked as visiting lecturer in Changchun Institute of Technology (CIT), China and coordinated the delivery of Mechanical Engineering modules in Rushmore Business School, Mauritius. Tabbi was part of the UWS Athena SWAN SAT Team in 2019/2020. He successfully delivered/contributed/coordinated 11 engineering modules across all Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework (SCQF) Levels. The range of modules Tabbi delivered supported the Aircraft, Chemical, Civil, Computer Aided Design, Graduate Apprenticeship and Mechanical Engineering programmes demonstrating the breadth of his contribution to the Engineering discipline. The MEQ data/feedback and module performance in the modules Tabbi delivered was exemplary. He was involved in module improvement; implementing, monitoring and reflecting on the effectiveness of the changes he introduced demonstrating a maturity in his academic performance in relation to learning and teaching

Tabbi was also the conference secretary for the 11th International Conference on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Protection (SEEP 2018) which assembled more than 250 researchers from 56 different countries. He is also a member of the international advisory committee for Materials Science and Smart Materials Conference (MSSM). He is a Chartered Engineer,  a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (CEng MIMechE) and a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET).

Tabbi has published more than 30 articles in High Impact Factor International Journals, Elsevier Book Chapters and International Conference Proceedings. He has also served as internal examiner for Ph.D examinations as well as Director of Studies (DOS) for  Ph.D research activities. Tabbi was a consultant for HV systems working on Hydrogen Fuel cell electric vehicles. He  worked on many industrial projects with companies in Glasgow. Tabbi supported the writing and submission of the award of a KTP with Consult Lift Services Ltd valued at £205,618.00 in 2019.
