I joined Aston University in 2018 as Senior Lecturer in Personal and Professional Development (PPD) and Interprofessional Education (IPE). My role is to develop PPD within the MBChB programme at Aston Medical School and IPE across Aston Medical School and Life & Health Sciences, particularly Pharmacy. Previously, I was Senior Lecturer in Medical Sciences at University of Birmingham and contributed to the development of the Biomedical Sciences programme as deputy programme director, quality lead and senior tutor. I integrated personal and professional development into the programme and was lead for student support. I completed my PhD at the University of Birmingham in Neuroscience in 1998, completed post-doctoral research in Ontario, Canada, before returning to University of Birmingham for a lectureship in Medical Sciences.
My primary focus is aligned with my role at Aston University in the development of PPD and IPE. Research is in the field of professionalism, health and wellbeing and interprofessional education.
