    Personal profile

    Biography

    I joined Aston in 2019 as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) for Supply Chain Management and the programme director for undergraduate degrees in logistics and supply chain management and logistcis with purchasing management. Having spent the previous few years as a postdoctoral research fellow in Politecnico di Milano, a lecturer in MIP Graduate School of Business in Italy, and a research engineer in KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden.

    Prior to embarking on my academic research journey, I spent six years in various positions in multinational organisations, which laid the foundation to build a portfolio of diverse experience with involvement in supply chain and operations management, business development, and continuous improvement projects.

    Research Interests

    My research interests are on the broad topic of supply chain design in high-uncertainty environments, with a particular focus on the supply chain's social and humanitarian impact. This is being achieved on a number of interrelated themes that operate in extreme supply and/or demand uncertainty levels;

    - Humanitarian logistics and supply chains (Localising supply through building suppliers' capacity with a particular focus on developing countries, strenghtning the private sector involvement and cross-sector collaboration, managing unsolicited bilateral donations, aligning supply chain design and strategies in humanitarian settings, Developing collaborative research methodologies for the humanitarian supply chain)

    - Enhancing the competitive advantage of SME suppliers by leveraging on horizontal collaboration, with a special focus on temporal supply networks (projects-based).

    - Preparing supply chains for the Digital Transformation (Winner of best research paper award from IEEE Technology Management, 2018)
