PhD opportunities<br/><br/>I welcome applications from highly motivated PhD candidates interested in advanced ceramic membranes, structured porous materials, and sustainable chemical engineering technologies.<br/><br/>My research focuses on the design and engineering of ceramic hollow fibre membranes and hierarchically structured porous architectures, with particular expertise in tailoring microstructure, transport pathways and interfacial properties to enhance mass transfer, separation and reaction efficiency.<br/><br/>Current research opportunities include:<br/><br/>Advanced ceramic hollow fibre membranes for separation and purification<br/>Development of next-generation ceramic membranes with controlled pore structures and surface functionalities for gas separation, liquid separation, water treatment and resource recovery.<br/>Transport-integrated porous architectures for catalytic and reactive processes<br/>Engineering novel structured materials that overcome conventional diffusion limitations by integrating molecular transport with catalytic functionality. Applications include industrial heterogeneous catalysis, catalyst supports, intensified reactors and sustainable chemical manufacturing.<br/>Membrane reactors and reactive separation systems<br/>Design of multifunctional ceramic platforms that couple separation, reaction and transport processes for environmental and energy applications.<br/>Carbon capture, utilisation and negative emission technologies<br/>Development of advanced materials and processes for CO₂ capture, conversion and sustainable carbon management.<br/>Environmental remediation and advanced water treatment<br/>Application of catalytic and functional membrane systems for removal of emerging contaminants and development of next-generation water treatment technologies.<br/><br/>My group particularly welcomes interdisciplinary projects combining materials engineering, membrane science, catalysis, reaction engineering and sustainability, aiming to create scalable technologies for clean energy, environmental protection and future chemical manufacturing.
My current research interest include:
1. Design and development of advanced micro-tubular ceramic membranes.
2. Membrane applications related to Water, Energy and Environment.
3. Innovations in material processing and applications.
