3D Numerical analyses of multimode acoustic coupling in standard and specialty optical fibres

Abstract

High frequency interaction of acoustic modes in optical fibres is revealed by numerical simulations for the first time. Details computed with the finite element method point to the next generation of microscale all-fibre acousto-optic devices.
