Abstract

The modulation of a double-core fiber using a flexural acoustic wave is numerically demonstrated. The stress caused by the acoustic wave in the fiber is calculated, as well as the power transfer between the cores and the modulated transmission spectrum. The results show that the presented methodology is promising for simulation of fibers with more cores and complex geometries.
