Abstract
The article presents issues around the work of the forensic linguist as expert witness in Anglo-Saxon adversarial systems.
It discusses their role, the relevant procedural guidelines, and methodological considerations to do with approaching forensic
data and presenting findings in court. The article also examines the expert report as a complex genre aimed concurrently
at a variety of audiences.
