Complex-valued kernels for compensation of pump dithering induced distortions in FOPA links

Abstract

We develop a complex-valued, kemel-adaptive-filtering based method for compensating phase and amplitude distortions in cascaded fibre-optical parametric amplifier links. Our algorithm effectively predicts and cancels the distortions induced by pump-phase modulation, achieving a Q 2 -factor improvement of up to 2dB across ten stages.
