Abstract

The excess molar volumes, VE, and viscosity deviations, Δη, were calculated from the measured density and viscosity values over the whole miscibility composition ranges for the ternary systems water+butyl acetate+methanol and water+ethyl propionate+methanol and their constituent binaries, at 303.15 K and atmospheric pressure. A Redlich-Kister type equation was used to correlate binary VE and Δη data, as well as the ternary data. This equation was used to calculate the above referred properties along the binodal curve.
