Abstract
We propose a dual-order distributed Raman amplifier using a novel broadband first-order pump which reduces signal RIN by >10dB and improves OSNR simultaneously, compared with conventional pumps. We amplify 1Tb/s DP-QPSK WDM signals and improve Q factor by >0.6dB.
