Fabrication of chirped Bragg gratings in photosensitive fibre

Abstract

A new direct holographic method for fabricating chirped fibre Bragg filters that are formed in fibre tapers is reported. The prototype filters are centred around 1.5312 mu m with a reflectivity of around 20% and reflection bandwidths of up to 2.9 nm.
