Hybrid Probabilistic and Geometrical Shaping Technique for High-Order QAM in Phase Noise Channels

Abstract

We propose a geometrical shaping technique suitable for hybrid constellation shaping. This technique is compatible with Gray coding and increases the mutual information over a phase noise channel for different modulation formats up to 1024-QAM.
