Abstract
We numerically investigate how a Mamyshev regenerator can be used to suppress optical wave breaking(OWB)-induced spectral ripples and residual continuous wave background in broadband electro-optic (EO) frequency combs resulting in improved spectral bandwidth and flatness. In particular, our approach is able to remove noise and suppresses unwanted spectral ripples resulting from shock-wave formation due to the interaction between the residual continuous-wave background and pulse envelope. Our results are particularly relevant for the design of broadband EO comb sources with flat spectral profiles that are useful for applications such as dual-comb spectroscopy and microscopy.
