Abstract
This entry charts shifting perspectives on the phenomenon of migrant entrepreneurship, which has evolved from an initial theoretical preoccupation with the characteristics of entrepreneurs to a more integrated position cognisant of the structural limitations to the activities of migrant business owners. We draw attention to recent sub-disciplines, notably refugee and transnational entrepreneurship, and suggest new avenues of research.
