Multi-banded coherent WDM transmission

    Abstract

    The world's first 1.5Tbit/s multi-banded Coherent-WDM system is demonstrated, in which five copolarised bands of 298Gbit/s-NRZ channels are transmitted over 80.4km of SMF-28e® in a simple cost-effective arrangement, with an aggregate spectral efficiency of 0.83b/s/Hz.
