New results on the efficiency of bismuth fiber lasers

Abstract

CW Bi fiber laser slope efficiency of 32% at 1160 nm is obtained at room temperature; at 77K it reaches 52%. The model is proposed explaining the dependence of efficiency on temperature and pump power.
