Abstract

Novel solid acids have been prepared and tested as catalysts in a range of liquid phase organic reactions. A number of heterogeneous catalysts possessing pure Brønsted to pure Lewis acidity are discussed, and their activity and selectivity compared to conventional homogeneous counterparts.
