Abstract
Through extensive direct modelling we quantify patterninig effects in a WDM RZDBPSK fibre link at 40 Gbit/s channel rate. We demonstrate BER improvemnent through skewed channel pre-encoding reducing the occurrence of the most dangerous triplets.
