Precise modeling of 4-wave-mixing products over 400KM of step-index fiber

Abstract

Experimental results are presented for the magnitude of the four wave mixing product in a two channel system as a function of both channel spacing and fibre span. Accurate simulations of optically amplified transmission results over 400 km of step index fibre at an operating wavelength of 1553 nm are also presented.
