Abstract

Paper examines a common scenario where two partners form a relationship and purchase a property in joint names yet wish to ensure that in the event of either of their deaths, both their interest in the property passes to their children from a previous relationship whilst simultaneously the surviving partner's housing needs are also met. Various legal mechanisms are considered and explored as to how this might be achieved.
