Abstract
Disasters are a significant source of psychological problems. Different reactions may occur such as psychological reactions to traumatic events. In countries which are affected by disasters and trauma experiences, there is a greater burden of mental health problems and adverse effects on psychosocial well-being. For example, after Hurricane Sandy, people were exposed to increased risk of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
