Abstract
The purpose of this case is to highlight the complexity and interdisciplinary nature of the thinking required to integrate corporate sustainability with existing business philosophy, models, strategy and operational activity. Specifically, the case illustrates how Ricoh UK improved and grew its business, and its product range, whilst simultaneously addressing its strategic environmental sustainability activities and goals through reducing and/or eliminating waste, energy and toxic materials from the system, and by closing the loop on its product design and development activity. The case also shows how the company strategically managed its sustainability activity through a major global business restructuring event.
