State-of-the-art lean six sigma practices

Abstract

One of the most important sectors, in developing countries, is the healthcare sector due to its direct relation to people's lives. Today, healthcare organizations are suffering from some challenges that need to be solved in order to build perfect organization. One of these issues is a lack of performance quality in the supply chain. In the healthcare sector, the importance of supply chain performance is rapidly growing and gaining the attention of both academics and practitioners alike. Obviously, any imbalance in supply chain performance will inevitably lead to an imbalance in the performance of healthcare services as a whole. In order for a healthcare provider to succeed, there is the need to improve supply chain performance. One of the most important quality tools to achieve this is adopting lean six sigma (LSS). LSS is an improvement approach that endeavour to maximize market share worth by improving speed, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction(Laureani & Antony, 2017). In addition, LSS approach is a substantial practise to improve quality(Peter & Lawrence, 2002) in healthcare (Gijo et al., 2013). In this paper, LSS practices have identified based on interview.
