SUB-microsecond packet polarization alignment using all-optical polarization attraction

Abstract

We demonstrate sub-microsecond 10 Gb/s packet polarization alignment using all-optical polarization attraction. The proposed process is based on counter-propagating four-wave-mixing in a dispersion-shifted fiber and achieves polarization-alignment of packets as short as 205 ns.
